Bio:

Bio:

The story begins in a remote village in Transylvanian is a wax museum called Vandoom.

Ludwig Vandoom has inherited the a wax museum from his father.  The was museum houses many supernatural wax statue attractions of monsters like the Werewolf, Dracula, the Mummy and Frankenstein.  The classic monsters statues have become dull to tourists and the local villagers and so business at the wax museum is waning.  Ludwig's wife is forced to work as a seamstress to pay the bills.  Ludwig concocts a plan to bring in new business to the museum.  He decides to create a massive new terrifying monster.

Ludwig says:
I shall build a new Wax monster - - One that will attract people from all over the world! How - ever there are no great new monsters in literature - - so I shall create my own.

Ludwig then sets out to make a massive wax monster.  He is not satisfied with a life sized monsters and begins to build a monster who's head will literally extend beyond that of the museum's roof.  Villagers begin to take notice of Ludwig's obsessive work habits and worry what he is doing at night with a light on.  When Ludwig cuts a hole in the museum's roof for the growing body villagers begin to freak out and ask Ludwig questions.  He refuses to answer any questions in the hopes that this creates more fear and wonder at what he is doing.  The terror of villagers reached an apex when spying inside the museum they caught sight of Ludwig Vandoom's hideous creation.  They began to form committees in order to shut down the project.  They were unsuccessful as Ludwig was building the attraction on his own property.

As Ludwig prepared to unveil his creation a lightning bolt struck and somehow turned the wax structure into a living breathing monster.  The monster tore through the museum and began to wreak havoc in the village.  The villagers attempt to attack the creature but are pushed back.  Then in a weird twist of fate.....aliens attack the village.  The aliens see the villagers as weak and think they can easily take over however they are then confronted by Vandoom's monsters who begins to crush them.  The aliens flee but not before exhausting the wax monster.  The villagers bury Vandoom monsters body in honor.  They then ask Ludwig to build another replica of the monster and this time they promise not to fight the project.  The new monster is built and is a great success people come from miles and miles to see the wax beast who defeated the aliens.  On story nights though Ludwig still worries about another stray lightning bolt that could make his monster come to life.

Vandoom appears a couple more times.  He appears as a monster in Peter Parker's dreams and is shown in the collection of the Collector.

Mole Man at one point raids the Collectors museum and frees the monsters there.  These monsters were beaten back the heroes Beast, Hulk, Giant-Man and the Thing.  Vandoom was beaten by the heroes and put in a prison in the Negative Zone.

Vandoom was freed from the Negative Zone and brought to the Monster Isles.  On the monster isles he was once again brought under the control of Mole Man and used to attack cities throughout the world.  This plot was foiled by the Fantastic Four.

Backstagers Halloween Comic from BOOM! Studios

Another Halloween comic in the works is The Backstagers Halloween Intermission.

Press Release

BOOM! Studios is proud to continue The Road to San Diego, a ten-day spotlight on the most exciting comic book and graphic novel news in advance of Comic Con International in San Diego (July 18-22), with the announcement of THE BACKSTAGERS HALLOWEEN INTERMISSION #1, a new special in October 2018 from series creators James Tynion IV and Rian Sygh, along with special guests Sam Johns (The Backstagers: Valentine’s Intermission), Shan Murphy (Bouquet), Abby Howard (Junior Scientist Power Hour), and Savanna Ganucheau (Bloom).

With the days getting shorter and the nights getting spookier, the Backstagers are back for the Halloween season with all-new tales of terrors and creepy creatures. When Sasha accidentally falls asleep backstage, he ends up locked in the theater overnight! What lurks in the shadows, what terrors will he discover, and what the heck are the stage managers chanting? With back-up stories spotlighting your favorite Backstagers, this spine-tingling tale of the stage will leave you with goosebumps you can see from the back row!

“A year back, Rian and I talked about how we might be able to continue to visit the world we had created in The Backstagers. We had the thought that we'd bring the sweet boys of the St. Genesius Stage crew back with a couple of oversized specials,” said James Tynion IV. “The first came out on Valentine’s Day, and let us delve into one of the core pillars of the series, the powerful love and friendship between our characters. But the second was always the one I was most excited about. The Halloween Intermission issue lets us expand the spookiest mythology behind the St. Genesius theater, to tell a genuinely frightening story that captures the heart and soul of the book and these sweet boys. I'm really proud of what Rian and I have cooked up for you, and with Sam Johns writing super spooky back-up stories for incredible art powerhouses like Abby Howard, Savanna Ganucheau, and Shan Murphy...It's going to be one heck of a Halloween!

“I was so excited when James and I were coming up with this story, I love our characters so much and I was so pleased when we decided to give the Stage Managers their time to shine since they didn't get much opportunity in the first series,” said Rian Sygh. “I'm mostly excited about drawing a lot of Halloween nonsense since its one of my favorite holidays. It’s been especially interesting seeing other people's art for the Back-Up stories. Collaborating with these incredibly talented cartoonists has been a dream, and makes me feel like The Backstagers have a lot more stories to explore than I could ever draw on my own!”

BACKSTAGERS HALLOWEEN INTERMISSION #1 features a main cover by Sygh and a variant cover by Veronica Fish (SLAM!).

“Who needs candy when you have comics as sweet as the THE BACKSTAGERS HALLOWEEN INTERMISSION?!” said Shannon Watters, Senior Editor, BOOM! Studios. “Our boys in stage blacks are back, and giving us all a high-quality haunting just in time for the spookiest time of the year.”

BACKSTAGERS HALLOWEEN INTERMISSION #1 is the latest release from BOOM! Studios’ award-winning BOOM! Box imprint, home to groundbreaking original series such as Lumberjanes by Shannon Watters, Grace Ellis, Brooklyn Allen, and Noelle Stevenson; Giant Days by John Allison, Lissa Treiman, and Max Sarin; Misfit City by Kiwi Smith, Kurt Lustgarten, and Naomi Franquiz; Fence by C.S. After scirmishes with zombies and the army of the tyrannical town of Woodbury all of Maggie's family are killed.  They find themselves moving from the Greene farm to a prison, to eventually the road, to being hunted to cannibals to eventually finding the Alexandria community.

During the time after the Prison, Maggie finds herself in a highly depressed state as she realized her father and brother died.   She tries to commit suicide.  She is rescued by Glenn.  For a time the pair have problems as Maggie struggles to come to terms with the death of her family and her own security.  Glenn becomes angry at Maggie's aloofness and lack of intimacy.  Maggie becomes and Glenn's willingness to go on dangerous supply runs.  Maggie adopts Sofia as her own child in part to ease the pain of losing her own family.   Eventually, the two settle these issues and become productive members of the Alexandria community.

Maggie goes to a new community of Hilltop.  The leader, Gregory of the community plans to betray Rick to the Saviors.  Maggie steps up to him and punches him in his face.  When he tries to reproach her she punches him again.  She then takes control of the town and leads it during the War against the Saviors in an event known as All Out War.  She is supported by the 2nd in command of Hilltop, Paul Monroe.

After this time her leadership is again questioned by Gregory who attempts to poison her.  However, he bungles the poisoning and she survives.  Laughing at how Gregory is even too incompetent to assassinate her right she executes him.  She promises the town that this is not the start of a trend but simply a necessary ugly thing.

Differences between comic and TV:
The TV version of Maggie was shown as being mentally stronger earlier.  Where as the comic version spent much of the early part of the apocalypse unsure in herself and also suicidal the TV version has been a leader.

The comic version of Maggie adopts Sofia however Sofia is dead in the TV version.

In both versions Maggie is highly devoted and in love with Glenn.

Netflix hits home runs with Daredevil and Sabrina!

Netflix hits home runs with Daredevil and Sabrina

Damn it Netflix stop being so damn good.  At this point your shows are so good I have a hard time watching anything else.  Two shows have been released this October on Netflix that deserve comic book fans attention, frankly both are so good that they deserve EVERYONE's attention.  They do however both have comic book connections, which makes them even better for a comic book blog like Toylab to call out.

Daredevil Season 3 the third (and potentially final?) season of Netflix's Partnership with Marvel for its street level heroes.  Netflix also landed the new Sabrina show made by the same group that created Riverdale for the CW and the comicbook the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.  The Toylab blog has followed both of these shows and the news coming out for some time now.  Sometimes following one of these shows ends badly. Yes I'm talking about you INHUMANS!  You can create 52 posts hoping that the Inhumans will get fans looking into Inhuman characters for example only for the show to be such a horrible stinker that no one gets past the first episode (I actually have still yet to finish the entire season).  Luckily though, this is not the case with Daredevil or Sabrina both of these shows are flat out brilliant.

Daredevil Season 3

This show gets a 9/10 from Toylab.  While this show takes up Matt Murdock after the events of the Defenders it really connects spiritually to the equally brilliant Season 1.  Some feel that Daredevil Season 2 lost a little something from the original.  I liked Season 2 but must admit that Daredevil characters became polluted by the focus on the Punisher.  Those that had issues with Season 2 will be delighted to learn that the Third season really gets back into the feel of Season 1.  This season's focus is Daredevil vs the Kingpin.  The Kingpin does not disapoint, if anything he is all the more terrifying and captivating in a phenonal performance from vincent d'onofrio.  A carefully built up major villain also leads to climatic battle that Daredevil fans have been waiting for since this show started.

For all of this shows greatness one can not help but wonder if this is it.  Sad as it may be there are reasons to suspect that this is the end of Daredevil on Netflix.  If that does come to pass it ends on a strong note.

The True Reason why Iron Fist and Luke Cage were canceled

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

Sabrina gets a 10/10 from Toylab Yes I am not joking this show is awesome!

True, I have really enjoyed Riverdale on the CW.  I was initially disapointed that Sabrina would not be joining the Riverdale crew on that show.  However, I have to say that my disapointment is over.  The goal of this show was to do something darker, but still have enough of the fun, romantic, quality of Sabrina.   The show creators wanted to have lots of magic, not a little and felt that it would have breaken Riverdale to add in Sabrina.  I think they were right.  This shows focus on magic, makes it sweet, and beautiful and terrifying all at the same time.  Its not shy about anything but always bold and its story is all the more juicy for it.

How do brutal Demonic monster mix with a cute teen romantic stories, it shouldn't but it does, it works sooooo damn well.  This is a show that you will binge through and won't be able to stop.  The visuals, the acting, there is a lot of good here, everything is dark, but attractive. Gorgeous really.  Your eyes will eat it up even as it terrifies you.

Fans of the old show will definetly find something here to like.  No this is not the Sabrina you grew up with, it is something more, deeper, denser and more savory full of dark humor, romance, and even a little death.  Your favorite old Sabrina characters are all here along with a few delightful new ones.

Sabrina characters get facelifts

How have these shows done from a view perspective?  Not sure, I have not seen metrics out for them yet but I also really don't give a damn.  What is important, is they are good and they should be watched.

Netflix proves again that it knows what its doing.  Check these shows out you will not be disapointed.

Light Box Expo to focus on Art

Light Box Expo to focus on Art

There used to be only a few comic cons in the world, now there seems to be a new one created each month.  This Lightbot Con however is a sign that some of the new cons may be out to alter the formula.  One thing I have heard from many con goers is that the Comic Cons have been taken over by Hollywood and they would like to have cons that have a greater focus on Writers and Illustrators over the actors.  Light Box is another sign that there may be an audience that wants to look at art in another way.

Press Release

In 2019, celebrated character designer and illustrator Bobby Chiu (Disney's Alice in Wonderland) and Emerald City Comic Con founder Jim Demonakos are launching LightBox Expo, a three day celebration of the visual arts in Pasadena, California. LightBox Expo (or LBX) will be a multi-faceted experience for everyone from aspiring artists and students, to professionals and fans, with a focus on animation, illustration and concept art. An impressive range of artists, including Daniel Arriaga (Coco), illustrator Loish, Iain McCaig (Star Wars), Crash McCreery (Jurassic Park), Hellboy creator Mike Mignola, Ryan Meinerding (Marvel Studios), Karla Ortiz (Dr. Strange), Victoria Ying (Tangled), and illustrator Claire Wendling, are already confirmed as inaugural guests with more guests to be announced in the upcoming months. The event will be held from September 6-8, 2019 at the Pasadena Convention Center with tickets going on sale early next spring.

After years of holding workshops around the world with his company Schoolism, Bobby Chiu is partnering with Jim Demonakos to found the event. “LightBox Expo was conceived as a way to unite the best artists in the animation, illustration, live action and gaming industries under one roof for the ultimate celebration of art,” said Chiu, LightBox Expo’s Creative Director. “This event is a place where we can come together once a year to hang out, share our work with the public, meet other artists, further our skills and educate those coming up in our respective industries.”

One of the missions of LightBox Expo is to ensure that the artists in attendance, from students to professionals, will be respected and treated fairly. To that end, an advisory council has been created, made up of some of the most experienced artists and studio representatives in the business, including Stephen Silver (Kim Possible), Justin Goby Fields (Ironklad Studios), Helen Mingjue Chen (Wreck-it Ralph), Ryan Lang (Big Hero 6), Renee di Cherri (Adobe), Douglas Little (Wacom), Christophe Lautrette (Kung Fu Panda), alongside previously mentioned artists McCreery, McCaig, Ortiz and Loish. “We’re really proud of the Advisory Council and its impact on the event,” said Demonakos, the LBX Convention Director. “Their direction is helping us put together an experience like no other, including a professional development day on Friday, plus countless hours of programming to help artists no matter what stage they’re at in their career.”

Who is Gigantus/ Goliath?

Who is Gigantus / Goliath?

Gigantus / Goliath is a monster that appeared in early Marvel comics in the early 1960s. . This post is part of the Toylab Marvel Monster series that focuses on old Marvel Monsters in preparation for the 2017 Marvel Comic event Monsters Unleashed.

Name/Alias: Goliath, Gargantus see continuity error section in bottom half of post:

Place of Origin:  Mu (Ancient city on Earth) this may have been altered to Subterranea at some point see continuity error section at bottom of page.

Race:  Deviant

First Appearance: Journey into Mystery #63

Other Appearances: Sensational Spider-Man #11, Warlock and the Infinity Watch #7 and #42, Journey into Mystery #648, Fantastic Four #347 and #349, Marvel Universe #7, Where Monsters Dwell #10 (reprint of Journey into Mystery #63)

Fun Facts:
In his initial appearance Gigantus is outsmarted by a Mr Baxter.  Mr. Baxter saved the world from being ruled Gigantus.  Not many Baxters are mentioned in Marvel comics its possible that this Mr. Baxter gave the Baxter Building long used as the HQ of the Fantastic Four its name.  I can validate this but I have been unable to find any other references to a Baxter in Marvel comics.

Gigantus - News:

Bio:

Ulyssess Bloodstone the monster hunter and adventurer encountered Gigantus on an expedition to Monster Island.  His group was attempting to rescue their friend and companion Mokkari who had been taken to the Isle.  As the expedition approached Monster Island, Gigantus rose up from the sea to block their path.  Bloodstone used the craft's flaming engines to scorch Gigantus causing the large monster to retreat back beneath the sea.  Gigantus's quick movements to submerge himself cause a small tidal wave that wreck the expedition's cruiser on the shore of Monster Island.

Gigantus is a huge monster from an aquatic civilization called Mu.  He is sent by a King of his people out to conquer the world.  The giant monster seems to be unstoppable.  He goes into a harbor and unleashes havok where he goes.  However a clever Hollywood special effects maker by the name of Mr. Baxter creates a fake giant monster that is even larger than Gigantus.  This fake monster calls itself Ulvar and claims to be an alien that has come to conquer Earth.  See the huge Ulvar gives Gigantus second thoughts and he fleas back into the sea believing he has met his match.

Gigantus appears among an assortment of monsters in one of Peter Parker's nightmares.

At some point Gigantus joins forces with the Mole Man and living in the kingdom of Subterranea.  He is ordered by the Mole Man to retrieve the Skrull named Inorganic Techno Troid.  In doing so he was forced to battle two teams of the Fantastic Four and was being beaten.  The Mole Man and Gigantus retreated seeing that the odds were against them.

Gigantus encounters Adam Warlock when Warlock comes to Monster Island.  The Mole Man sends Gigantus toward the Infinity Watch members as a welcome party.

Gigantus also appears to be banished by Asgardians in one story.  He returns and is beaten back by Namor.

It is not clear if Goliath will appear as part of the Marvel 2017 event Monsters Unleashed.

Powers:
  • Super Strong - Not sure how strong relative to other monsters or heroes but was shown to have strength far surpassing a normal human.
  • Super Durable -
  • Aquatic Amphibian - Can breath underwater, and above water.

Marvel Shop:
Toylab is a member of the Amazon Affiliate network and so we can offer you great deals like the ones recommend for you below:

Potential Continuity Errors-
Gigantus is a fairly obscure character but has managed to show up a few times in the Marvel universe.  Bizarrely these appearances sometimes present facts that appear to be at odds with his previous appearances.  This is definitely some back corner Marvel universe stuff but for those who are geeks about this kind of thing here is what I have managed to unravel.  Its pretty funny for a character who has only appeared a few times to have this many glaring questions.  This is what happens though when a character randomly appears again decades after he was first created and information on his original appearance is forgotten.  This is especially true in the age prior to the internet where people went off of paper notes, old comics and memory.  I label these as "Potential" Continuity Errors because I think if someone wanted to they could explain many of these errors away with some clever writing.

When Gigantus first appears in Journey into Mystery #63 he is referred to as Golaith the Monster that walks like a Man.  He is never referred to by this name again.  The story is later reprinted in Where Monsters Dwell but in this appearance his name is changed to Gigantus the Demon from the Depths.  I have not found an explanation for the change my guess is that they thought Gigantus sounded more cool.  I have not noticed many other changes between the Where Monsters Dwell version and the original.  One funny change is there is an added word balloon on the cover of the Monsters Dwell where a man shouts "Run for your life, it's the monster that walks like a man".  This line plays homage to the original description of the character back in Journey into Mystery.

Where Monsters Dwell series is basically made up of later reprints of older monster tales so many of these monsters made their 2nd appearance in that series (Including popular Monsters like Groot).

Same cover but different name

This period of time is revisited in the late 1990s in the series Marvel Universe #7 that focuses on the exploits of Monster Hunter Ulysses Bloodstone.  Tom Brevort in the notes of Marvel Universe #7 states that Gigantus was previously named Gargantus and appeared in Strange Tales #80.  A character named Gargantus does appear in Strange Tales #80 but this is a different character than the Gigantus/ Goliath character.

His first appearance Gargantus in Strange Tales #80 does look a lot like Gigantus with the biggest difference being that he is gray blue and not orange.  However, Gargantus appears again in a story called The Return of Gargantus in Strange Tales #85 and this time he looks very different.  With the 2nd story I think its clear that Gargantus is a separate aquatic monster and Brevort was mistaken in the notes of Marvel Universe #7.

Covers of Gargantus Covers in Strange Tales 80 and 85 below for comparisons sake.

Mu King or Mole Man?
In his first appearance Gigantus relates a story of being sent to conquer the world by a King of the Muvians.  This King is never mentioned again and later stories Gigantus works directly for the Mole Man.  Its possible that the Mole Man replaced the Mu King in later printings and reimaginings of the character.

From MU or Subterranea?
Mu has generally been depicted with humanoids not Orange skinned monsters like Gigantus.  Mu appears in Namor comics 1 and 2.  It also appears in Marvel Tales #44 where the beautiful but abandoned city of Para Diss is discovered.  In both comics Mu is the Continent that the ancient Lemuria civilization rested upon.  This continent was destroy by the Celestials and sunk into the ocean.  In Namor some of the Muvians survive in a underwater city.  It is possible that Gigantus was part of a separate species that survived species from Mu that survived the cataclysm.  However, this is never explained.

In later appearances Gigantus is a part of Mole Man's deviant monsters.  These other monsters all come from Subterranea and I have seen numerous sources list Subterranea as Gigantus's place of origin.  Its possible like the Mu King that Subterranea has replaced Mu.

Changing Colors?
Gigantus appears in different colors Orange, Green and Brown. He is green in Fantastic Four #349, brown in Warlock and the Infinity Watch #7. In all other appearances Gigantus appears to be Orange. Once again if Marvel wanted to this could be explained way with a quick blurb about how Gigantus can change colors but on its face it appears to be an error.

Moomba is a member of an unnamed alien race that came to Earth in the hopes of conquering the planet.  The race placed themselves all over the world and hid as what appeared to wooden statues.  One of the statues Moomba was found by a tribe in Africa.  All the other wooden statues waited for the day Moomba would give the call to start the invasion.

A big game hunter named Frank came to Africa hoping to get an impressive trophy and make some money.  However, when he gets to Africa he learns there is a bigger opportunity hunting for mysterious wooden statues that have become a craze.  He goes out to see if he can find any of the statues for himself.  He finds an immense statue but is startled when the begins to attack him.  This statue is Moomba and Moomba sends out the psionic call for the wooden statues to begin their assault on Earth.  Frank manages to flee from Moomba and finds a local shaman named Katu.  The shaman works up a special brew that emits fumes that is highly poisonous to Moomba.  Moomba flees along with all the wooden statues.

Before he leaves Earth, Moomba wipes everyone's minds clean of any references to him or the wooden statues.

Moomba was captured by monster hunter Elsa Bloodstone.  She imprisoned the creature inside Bloodstone Manner.  When the manner was attacked by Deadpool and Elektra, Elsa captured the pair and threw them into prison with Moomba.  The pair battled and injured the Moomba before escaping.

Magik and Shadowcat are attacked on Monster Isle by Moomba when they were searching for Bo.  Magik teleported the three away to safety in the Xavier school for higher learning.

Top 10 Most Evil Marvel Monsters

The Top 10 Most Evil Marvel Monsters!

Toylab's bloggers met to decide the top 10 most evil monsters.  This debate was actually some what more difficult than one might expect because many monsters were deemed to be simply misunderstood and not really evil.  After searching through the ranks of Marvel's monstrous characters we still found some evil dudes.

We decided not to include Demons or dark gods because otherwise they would make up the whole list.  So there is no Mephisto, Satannish, or Cthon on this list.  Humans were also kept out because they are not "Monsters" though there are many humans in the Marvel universe who could give the characters on this a run for their money.  We may revisit this with the villains of the Punisher some time as it would be a very interesting top 10.

Anatomy of Evil

We will attempt to rate the Marvel Monsters based off Yale Professor Michael Stone's Scale of Evil.
The Scale of Evil rates murderers based largely on their motivations to determine how evil they are.  The scale ranges from a 1 (Not evil) to 22 (Very evil).

The levels of the anatomy of evil are broken into 6 major categories and are described by Michael Stone as:

Killer but no Evil
1) Justifiable Homicide - People who kill for a good reason.  To save others etc.

Impulsive Murders in Persons without Psychopathic Features
2) Jealous Lovers, Egocentric, immature people, committing crimes of passion
3) Willing companions of killers, impulse-ridder, some antisocial trait
4) Killing in self defense, but extremely provocative toward the victim
5) Traumatized, desperate persons who kill relatives or others, yet have remorse
6) Impetuous, hotheaded murderers, yet without marked psychopathic traits

Persons with a Few or No Psychopathic Traits, Murders of a More Severe Type
7) Highly narcissistic persons, some with a psychotic core, who murder loved ones
8) Murders sparked by smoldering rage - resulting sometimes in mass murder

Pychopathic Features Marked; Murders show Malice Aforethought
9) Jealous lovers with strong psychopathic traits or full blown psychopathy
10) Killers of people "in the way" (including witnesses), extreme egocentricity
11) Fully psychopathic killer of people "in the way"
12) Power hunger psychopaths who murder when "cornered"
13) Inadequate, rageful psychopaths some committing multiple murders
14) Ruthlessly self-centered psychopathic schemers

Spree or Multiple Murders: Psychopathy is Apparent
15) Psychopathic, cold-blooded, spree or multiple murderers
16) Psychopathic persons committing multiple vicious acts (including murder)

Serial Killers, Torturers, Sadists
17) Sexually perverse serial killers, killing is to hide evidence, no torture
18) Torture-Murderers, though the torture element is not prolonged
19) Psychopathic driven to terrorism, subjugation, rape etc short of murder
20) Torture-murderers but in persons with distinct psychosis (such as schizophrenia)
21) Psychopaths committing extreme torture but not known to have killed
22) Psychopathic torture murderers with torture as their primary motive.  The motive need not be always be sexual.

Is using this scale a bit overboard for comic book monsters?  Heck yeah it is but its great for discussion so lets do it anyway!

10)
Grottu King of the Insects

Grottu wants to conquer the world and seems indifferent to those he harms.  Some of this motivation comes from how both he and other insects are treated by mankind.  Due to him having an actual grievance and a reason for Rage he slipped down in the scale

We have assigned Grottu  to the 8 category of evil.

8) Murders sparked by smoldering rage - resulting sometimes in mass murder

While perhaps capable of doing worse than many on this list Grottu does have real reasons for being angry with humanity and thus some acts could be considered justified acts of aggression.

9)
Fin Fang Foom

Fin Fang Foom jumped around on our list depending on what story we were looking at.  It should be noted that a fully rehabilitated Foom has been shown working with heroes in later stories.  However, for his long comic history Fin Fang Foom was depicted as an alien warlord bent on conquering the world.  Foom was willing to work with people to meet his ends but only so long as those people worked for him.  He is manipulative, power hungry and shows little qualms for slaughtering of people.  He slides down morally up though in that his motivations are due to goals of his people for conquest and not out of a desire to cause pain or harm.  His willingness to work with others also illustrates an ability to only kill when he feels it is needed to further his aims.

We have assigned Fin Fang Foom to the 8 category of evil.

12) Power hunger psychopaths who murder when "cornered"

We have made Foom worse on the scale than Grottu in part because he has no real reason to attack humanity other than seeking power.

Click HERE for more Fin Fang Foom

8)
Gigantus an evil would be conqueror

Gigantus makes the list as he is very uncaring toward the world populace and any destruction he creates in his attempt to take over the world.  Also his cowardice when faced by a seemingly more powerful opponent seems to make him even more vile.

We have assigned Gigantus to the 13 category of evil.

13) Inadequate, rageful psychopaths some committing multiple murders

While Gigantus has no qualms with killing massive amounts of people he does so on the orders of others whether it being the King of Mu or the Mole Man.   In this sense it is hard to classify him as a true schemer who is thinking out all of his terrible actions.  He is simply a powerful and indifferent cog.

7)
Moomba a sneaky conqueror

Moomba is a giant monster who also want to take over the world.  He schemes ahead by putting special statue soldiers all over the world and waiting for those statues to be taken into homes and building before animating them.  Moomba shows a great deal of uncaring for the well being of others as well as high level of scheming.

We have assigned Moomba to the 14 category of evil.

14) Ruthlessly self-centered psychopathic schemers

Moomba is indifferent to the level of devastation he causes and also planned his moves in advance.

Click HERE for more info on Moomba

6)
Living Statue

The Living Statue immediately sets out to kill its own creator immediately after being given life.  It is not grateful in anyway for being given life, nor does it have any real grievance with its creator it simply wants to kill and do evil for the sake of evil.

The only thing holding back the Living Statue is that he does not show signs of torturing his victims.

We have assigned the Living Statue to the 15 category of evil.

15) Psychopathic, cold-blooded, spree or multiple murderers

He is cold blooded in his pursuit of murder but does not seem to desire torture.

5)
Trull the Inhuman

There is something evil generally about taking over the tools of people and use them to harm people indiscriminately.  It is an act of perverting safe things and making them evil things as a form of torture and subjugation.  This is in part why Trull climbs so high on our list of most evil characters.  Trull also seems far more evil in later appearances with Ghost Rider than he does in his initial appearance.

We have assigned Trull to the 18 category of evil.

18) Torture-Murderers, though the torture element is not prolonged

Trull does not seem to prolong his torture but quickly uses the machines under his command to kill and assume control.  His torture is aimed at taking control and subjugating others.

4)
Orrgo - Marvel Monster

Orrgo shows disdain for all creatures that are less powerful or intelligent than him which makes up almost everyone.  His only restraints come from the selfish worry of not getting beat up or killed.  He is not courageous or willing to put himself out for a cause beyond himself.  This makes him for all his power very evil.

We have assigned Orrgo to the 19 category of evil.

19) Psychopathic driven to terrorism, subjugation, rape etc short of murder

He is also has initial reason for his attack on Earth other than to show Earth that he is superior.  He is from the other-side of universe and so no one from Earth has hurt him.  He also has no need for the resources of Earth due to his species advanced technology and powers.  While seemingly funny at times Orrgo's crimes are pretty hideous.  His mind control of all Earth is a kind of mass rape and is even worse when considered it was done for the sole purpose of subjugation.

3)
Varnae the root of evil of vampires

Varnae is easily the most evil so far on the list.  Some may put him even higher on the list as his crimes are voluminous.  Varnae is a sorceror in the dark arts whose work causes the destruction of his society killing everyone.  He also creates varmpiriscm and proceeds to spread the monstrous affliction across the world.  He does not only spread vampiricsm but nurses it and leads it.  When vampiriscm is irradiated Varnae proceeds to bring it back.

He sees humanity as nothing more than food.  He delights in pain and controlling humans.  He also mocks humans who help him.

We have assigned Varnae to the 20 category of evil.

20) Torture-murderers but in persons with distinct psychosis (such as schizophrenia)

One thing holding Varnae back is that he really seems to be more of a force of nature doing what his vampire instincts see to want him to do.  His mind set is thus somewhat off from that of normal human and may be likened to a kind of schizophrenia.  His murders are also generally to eat and not to inflict pain as the primary purpose.  He also moves up the scale in that Varnae does generally seem concerned about the well being of his people "vampires" and not solely about his own power.

To learn more about Varnae click HERE

2)
Dracula the ancient evil

Dracula is chosen by Varnae as a leader of vampires in part because of his immense willingness to commit cruelty.  He is seen as Varnae as a strong leader willing to do anything for his cause.

As a vampire Dracula sexually, mentally, politically and magically controls and manipulates people.  Sometimes this is done for power but other times it seems to be for entertainment.  This ability to control and manipulate people as his true mastery make him one of the most evil monsters in all of the Marvel universe.

As a human and leader he is willing to extremely torture people sometimes for a purpose but other times for his own pleasure.

We have assigned Dracula to the 22 category of evil.
22) Psychopathic torture murderers with torture as their primary motive.  The motive need not be always be sexual.

This is the highest category of evil on the scale however we have character that we have ranked as even more evil.

For more Dracula click HERE

1)
Deacon Frost

Deacon Frost is about as despicable as they come.  He is willing to throw of the rules of both humans and vampires to pursue power thus he is willing to even pervert the rules and norms of monsters.
Deacon Frost's own origins reveal a scientist willing to ruthlessly experiment on people to pursue his own immortality.

As a vampire Deacon Frost mentally and sexually violates humans to pursue his own ends.

His creation of Blade shows a morbidly, evil mind set in his preying on a pregnant woman by specifically targeting, and manipulating her despite other options available.  In this sense he purposeful manipulates the breaks the taboo of society for his own delight and pleasure.  This is level beyond that of Dracula who generally is attacking people to feed or for power.  While the machinations of Dracula seem to be power driven, the machinations of Frost seem to be cause the most pain and harm.  The crimes of Frost are not all always optimized toward the pursuit of power.  In the case of his feeding on Blade's mom Frost actually created his own nemesis in Blade that distinctly would hurt him in the future.  However, his pursuit of a new type of victim to torture with his morbid curiosity could not be sated by killing normal targets.  This makes Frost even more evil than Dracula.

There is a reason why Blade pursues Deacon Frost beyond all other vampires even those with more power and that is because Deacon Frost is really as evil as evil gets.

We have assigned Deacon Frost to the 22 category of evil the highest level of evil on the scale.
22) Psychopathic torture murderers with torture as their primary motive.  The motive need not be always be sexual.

Deacon Frost is ranked as the most evil Monster character on our list.  He tops out at the 22 level and even beat out Dracula for the prize as most evil.
