Jim Butcher - Peace Talks Updates

In the fantasy literary world right now there are two books that are commonly talked about.  The first is the next Game of Thrones and the 2nd is Jim Butcher's Peace Talks.  Butcher had been a methodical, novel making machine as he cranked out nearly one Dresden File Novel a year up until.......Peace Talks.  Seriousily between 2000 and 2015 Butcher has written 15 Dresden Files books along with 6 Codex Alera novels and other projects.

Then after 2015 ......there was a pause.  Various theories have been posited.  Jim was building a house, Jim was having personal issues, health issues.  To me the real issue was that Jim spoiled all of his fans by being so perfect for so long.  I am biased I have ran into Jim now at numerous cons and have found him extremely likeable, down to Earth guy.

At any rate I am happy to report that I have some info on when Peace Talks will be coming.  Not immediately by any means but the wait is coming to an end.

Jim first has finished up a book of Dresden Files short stories called Brief Cases that is coming out June 5th of 2018.

Brief Cases sounds pretty cool you can read its Synopsis below.

Synopsis:
The world of Harry Dresden, Chicago’s only professional wizard, is rife with intrigue–and creatures of all supernatural stripes. And you’ll make their intimate acquaintance as Harry delves into the dark side of truth, justice, and the American way in this must-have short story collection.
From the Wild West to the bleachers at Wrigley Field, humans, zombies, incubi, and even fey royalty appear; ready to blur the line between friend and foe. In the never-before-published ‘Zoo Day,’ Harry treads new ground as a dad, while fan-favorite characters Molly Carpenter, his onetime apprentice, White Council Warden Anastasia Luccio, and even Bigfoot stalk through the pages of more classic tales.
With twelve stories in all, Brief Cases offers both longtime fans and first-time readers tantalizing glimpses into Harry’s funny, gritty, and unforgettable realm, whetting their appetites for more to come from the wizard with a heart of gold.
As for Peace Talks....

Current Projection for Peace Talks  Early 2019

This is the last real news I have heard:  Jim Butcher interview
Currently, Butcher’s putting the finishing touches on Peace Talks, the sixteenth book in the series. Peace Talks is slated for an early 2019 release.
I have also heard Jim is getting married in Sep and would like to have a draft to his publisher before he is married.  With production times and other phases of a book an early 2019 release would seem to make sense.  This is if everything goes smoothly.  Hey yes I know its been awhile but lets all hope for smooth sailing.

Toylab's Original Projection Late 2018

Personally I think Jim is just a genius marketer because this book is now going to be legendary no matter what he puts out.

Lets take a moment to Praise and Congratulate Jim.

Alot of the these "Where are Peace Talks" posts miss the boat in that they turn negative on Jim Butcher.  My opinion is that if Jim never writes another book he has given me and all Dresden fans a MASSIVE gift.  He does not owe me anything.  I've had the privilge of running into him at a few events and he is just a pure salt of the Earth good dude.  While I would love another book I am not going to let me desire for something to turn me into a negative nancey troll (And you should not either!).

Also lets Congratulate Jim for his recent gorgeous wedding.

Jim was recently married in Fall of 2018 in Colorado in a.......castle.  Congratulations Mr and Mrs Butcher!  You can see the pair had a wedding that you would expect from the author of the Dresden Files:  I think Harry would approve.

Here is another fun video showing who Jim is that I really enjoy.
If you can't wait that long here is story from Jim about how he got into a bar fight in Houston.
