New Marvel RPG coming from Aftershock Studios

A new mobile Marvel game has been announced that sounds pretty unique.  The game is being described as a RPG which there have not been very many of in the Super Hero Space.  That alone makes the game intriguing.  Another thing that is interesting is that the game is being developed by Aftershock Studios who is owned by Foxnet......Who is owned by Fox.  So this is a sign of Marvel and Fox working together.  While it would be easy to brush that under the rug, the reality is that there are many mobile game designers and Marvel here has specifically selected one that is owned by Fox.

Speaking about the Partnership between FoxNext Games and Marvel the FoxNext Games President Aaron Loeb is quoted as saying:
To team up with Marvel on our first game at FoxNext Games is a dream partnership."
That is very nice wording that you don't always see used between Fox and Marvel.  Now I may be dreaming here but I do see moments like these as signs that the companies could be agreeing toward a larger unification of their licenses into a united Marvel Universe, a theory I like to call Marvel One theory.  Add this news to the list of other signs that companys are starting to play nice with eachother.

While details of the game itself are few it does sound like a cool concept and well worth tracking.

Comic site Newsarama had an interview with Marvel's Senior VP of games Jay Ong who was quoted as saying:

“Aftershock is creating something special and we are thrilled to finally announce this news,”... “The game will be the full package: an exciting storyline, epic moments with Marvel super heroes and super villains, and incredible visuals that truly bring our characters to life. It’s shaping up to be one of our biggest and boldest projects in our mobile portfolio, and we know it will exceed our fans’ expectations.”

More about Aftershock and Foxnet from the Aftershock site.  The Aftershock site did not have any information about the new Marvel RPG game but it does have a lot of information about the companies and previous games they have worked on.
