Otto is not doing a great job at stepping up.  Negotiations with the Green Goblin did not go well.  In the ongoing game of chess between the Green Goblin and Otto the Goblin seems to be a multiple moves ahead.  The Goblin knows that Otto's mind is inside Spider-Man and he seems to be angry that "Spiderman's 2nd best villain" was the one that killed him.  Ouch those are fighting words.

This book has great action, an interesting comparison between Otto and Peter Parker and a great heroic scene by MJ.  Overall a good book and with solid art.

Summary:

Goblin Knight had previously scouted out the defenses of Spider Island and that scouting comes in handy for the goblins who launch a full assault on the island.  Many/all of Otto's men are killed and the island is destroyed.  The Superior Spider-man barely escapes his own island, and only then with some of his best men sacrificing themselves to aid their boss.

The Spider Goons are squashed by the Goblins
The Wraith meanwhile is trying to hunt down Peter Parker whom she believes is a murderer.  Of course she runs smack dab into Goblinfest 2000.

We do learn one thing that gives us a small amount of optimism.  Carlie Cooper speaks to Spider-Man and gets him alone.  Apparently, she has maintained some of her humanity and wants Spider-Man to help fix her.

Mary Jane also takes action and pins down the Goblin kids and then starts getting likely targets of the Goblin like Aunt May to safety.  As she heads out she calls herself the Wildcard.  Indeed, she may be the best of Spider-Man's dwindling list of allies Spider-Man.

Peter Parker tried to hide the last of himself in Otto's memories fights to remember who he is as he is forced to relive the life of Otto Ocatvius through Otto's memories.  The comparison between Hero and Villain, and their different experiences are shown here.  Why one chooses to sacrifice for others and the other seeks to prove his superiority are laid out here.
